I often get asked why I became a PT and, even more specifically, why I chose Pelvic Health. The first part is easy - I get such satisfaction in helping others live their lives to the fullest, and being a PT helps me do that! Whether I'm helping someone recover after a surgery, keeping weekend warriors in the game, or tending to a new ache or pain, finding new ways to help people live fully is my jam!
Specializing in Women's Health started from my own journey in learning and understanding my body, navigating my own reproductive issues, and realizing our health care system does a GREAT job taking care of women during pregnancy, but not necessarily before or after. There is a HUGE range of years there where women are left to figure things out for themselves, and I really wanted to change that. I believe knowledge is power, and arming women with accurate information and the tools to improve their health is really the best way to empower my patients.
The name Destinations PT came from my love for travel. My husband Mike and I are always looking for our next adventure. Greater than that though is my belief that we all are on our own journeys - and no matter what our destinations may be we often need a little help to get there. That's where PT comes in!
Mike and I have 2 amazing fur-babies - Murphy and Gus - that occasionally come to the clinic to help with paperwork. I absolutely love that we're able to support our ridiculously talented nieces and nephews in their activities so if I'm not in a gym or ball field cheering for them, I'm probably enjoying a glass of wine with friends, taking the pups for a walk or figuring out where and when to travel next!
I look forward to connecting with each of you and hearing what YOUR destinations are.
Here's to your health!
